I am a proud member of the Editorial Freelancers Association and as such, my rates, for the most part, reflect industry standards—and take into account my educational background, years of training as an editor, and the quality of work I am proud to produce for my clients. These EFA rates are just an example but might give you an idea of what editors normally charge for various projects, especially if you are new to the world of publishing or plan to self-publish for the first time. Note that I do ask any client to sign a Freelancer Agreement outlining the scope of work in detail for each project and require a deposit before beginning work.
